ABOUT THE RACE

The GreenTrail is a loop race taking place in the heart of North Vancouver. This unique trail running event offers a backyard format, achievable by runners of all levels, whether solo or in a team. With 70 minutes to complete each 7km loop, participants can choose to tackle up to 6 loops, making it both a personal challenge and a celebration of endurance.

Starting and finishing in the same location, the race village will be buzzing with energy. Friends and families can hang out, cheer for their runners, enjoy local food, listen to music, and play games. With a new start every 70 minutes, the event promises to be a continuous party for at least 7 hours!

GreenTrail Vancouver is organized by a small group of friends, passionate about mountains, running, and giving back to the planet. All profits from the event will be donated to the Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre, supporting the preservation of our cherished forests and ecosystems.

We acknowledge that GreenTrail Vancouver takes place on the traditional, unceded territories of the Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. We are grateful to run and celebrate on this land, honoring its beauty and history.

How it Works:

  • Runners have 70 minutes to complete the 7km loop (including time to refuel).
  • Starts are given every 70 minutes for up to 5 loops.
  • Rankings are determined based on the time of the last loop.

Solo Format:

  • Each runner commits to a certain number of loops.
  • No loops can be skipped, and no starts are allowed after the 70-minute cut-off.

Team Format:

  • Information coming soon.

Kids & Walk Format:

  • To make it a party for everyone, we’ve included a walking format on a 2km flat loop.

Informations

Location and Schedule:

The race starts and finishes on the playground of Cousteau School, the French International School located at 3657 Fromme Road, North Vancouver, V7K 2E6.

Bib Pickup:

  • May 30st (the day prior): 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM PST on the school campus.
  • May 31st (race day): All morning long, at least 30min before your category's start.

Race Briefing:

  • 5min before every start: Conducted by race organizers.

Race Start Times:

  • 6:00 AM PST: The first loop starts for 42k runners.
  • Subsequent loops start every 70 minutes: 35k (7:10am), 28k (8:20am), 21k (9:30am), 14k (10:40am), 7k (11:50am).
  • 10:00 AM PST: Start of the kids' race. All kids must be accompanied by an adult.
  • 9:40 AM: Start for walk format.

Mandatory Equipment:

  • Runners must carry a water supply for each loop (ideally 350 to 500 ml).
  • We recommend carrying a fully charged phone for emergencies, turned on and accessible.
