Our Commitment to Sustainability
GreenTrail is more than a race—it’s a pledge to protect our planet. By reducing single-use plastics with Hydrapak SpeedCups, involving Cousteau School students in eco-friendly waste management, and donating all proceeds to the Ecological Center of Lynn Valley, we’re ensuring every step makes a difference. Join us in running for a greener tomorrow.

Waste Management by Cousteau School
At GreenTrail, sustainability isn’t just a goal—it’s a shared mission. That’s why we’re thrilled to partner with Cousteau, the French International School of Vancouver, the first certified EcoSchool in British Columbia. Known for their year-round dedication to environmental stewardship, Cousteau is the perfect host for our start and finish lines, located on their eco-friendly playground.
Cousteau’s middle school students are taking the lead in managing waste during the event. These young eco-champions will:
- Oversee sorting stations for recyclable, compostable, and non-recyclable waste.
- Educate runners and spectators on sustainable waste disposal.
- Demonstrate how small actions can have a big environmental impact.
This initiative is part of Cousteau’s broader commitment to nurturing environmentally conscious citizens. Through ongoing eco-actions, including waste reduction campaigns and community cleanups, the school fosters responsibility and ecological awareness in its students.
"Being an EcoSchool means taking action every day to protect the planet. Participating in GreenTrail is an incredible opportunity for our students to contribute to a real-world initiative and see their efforts make a difference." – Jean-Loup Colombi, Vice Principal at Cousteau School
Supporting Local Ecology: All Proceeds to Lynn Valley
Every step you take at GreenTrail contributes to something bigger. We’re proud to announce that 100% of the event proceeds will be donated to the Ecological Center of Lynn Valley, an organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing our natural environment.
The Ecological Center of Lynn Valley is a cornerstone of our community’s environmental efforts. Their mission focuses on:
- Habitat Restoration: Revitalizing local ecosystems to protect wildlife and promote biodiversity.
- Community Education: Hosting workshops and programs to inspire ecological awareness and sustainable practices.
- Research and Conservation: Leading projects to monitor and protect the natural beauty of Lynn Valley.
By participating in GreenTrail, you’re not just running—you’re investing in a greener future for generations to come.
